Sonny and Susie's Wedding - Orchard Creek Lodge Wedding DJ

Sacramento Wedding DJ We had an absolute ball at Sonny and Susie's wedding in early January! They wanted to have nothing but fun, creative ingredients fill their celebration. We had vocalists, musicians, hula dancers, surprise musical performances, a surprise from Sonny to Susie, and on and on!! I could hardly keep up, lol. One of my favorite moments of the evening was their 'Shadow' Grand Entrance. I was able to introduce them to their guests at the start of the reception by utilizing a big screen with a special spotlight behind it. With Sonny and Susie placed just right, I told their story...they posed just right...I turned on and off the spotlight to create their shadows, and we culminated with them walking straight through it as it rose into the ceiling. It was quite a moment, for quite an evening!

Ryan & Merlou - Sacramento Wedding DJ

Sacramento Wedding DJ
What an incredible 'Winter Wonderland' wedding we helped Ryan and Merlou with in December. Their vision when we met was one of baron trees, blue, white and silver accents, and lights everywhere!! The foyer to the Ballroom had a phenomenal ceiling treatment from Aimee at The Find, and we accented it with blue and white LED's, which looked stunning. We provided our photobooth and they created a slideshow for all to enjoy. They had us booked for 7 hours, and the dancefloor was rockin' until the very last minute. visit us at www.sjsdiscjockey.com

Wedding DJ Folsom - Lake Natoma Inn wedding

Sacramento Wedding DJ

Kent and Valerie had big plans for their wedding last night at Folsom's Lake Natoma Inn.

As we sat down and planned together, we knew that because we had lots of activity to get through in a finite amount of time, so timing would have to be perfect.

They had a really nice courtyard ceremony, culminating with Calvin Harris', 'Feels so close' as their exit song. That took us to cocktail hour, where we mingled for 30 minutes before inviting guests to take their dinner seats.

As we prepared for the Grand Entrance, I warmed up the guests and asked them to fill out our Newlywed Mad-Libs, as their job was to read them aloud in order to be excused to the buffet. Then, the Grand Entrance... We brought the wedding party in to 'The Most Interesting Man In The World' theme, changing Man to Wedding Party! It was a riot! I read funny little custom quips aloud about each member, then I had the wedding party write an impromptu bio about the newlyweds, and you could just reach out and grab the energy in the room.

Guests read their hilarious Libs aloud, we had dinner, toasts, and then we gave away the table centerpieces in a fun, creative way. We then watched a slideshow that Kent produced, had dessert, and then...the danceparty was on! My dancefloor had a sea of people on it at every moment, making it a wildly rewarding wedding.

Arden Hills Country Club Wedding - Sacramento Wedding DJ

Sacramento Wedding DJ

Just last night, I played for a wild one at Arden Hills Country Club in Sacramento.

Firstly, I knew this wedding was gonna be a barnbuner, as everything about my meeting with Danette (our bride), hinted at. They had my photobooth reserved, amber uplights in the ceremony site and reception ballroom, and my DJ service in both areas.

As I was setting up, I saw Danette arrive and was told she was incredibly sick....:( Apparently, she had a nasty flu, and had been in the hospital the day before getting fluids pumped into her. I tell ya', she was a trooper on wedding day. She had a smile on her face, and you wouldn't have known how terrible she felt.

Their ceremony was short and sweet, and we moved into the Heritage Room for cocktail hour. I have played there many times, and the energy from this group confirmed my knowledge that this was gonna rock!

Our Grand Entrance was loud and well received, dinner was really good (Chicken and Blackened Steak), toasts were emotional and well spoken, and then the party was on!

They danced non-stop for 2+ hours, the photobooth was packed all night long, and Danette survived! Congrats to her and Chris.

The above, 'Action Shot,' was shot by Andrea from Chris Kight Photography.

Sacramento Wedding DJ - Citizen Hotel Wedding

Sacramento Wedding DJ

Just this past Saturday, I played for Heidi and Justin at the stunning Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento.

Their music involvement made this wedding a unique joy for me, as their eclectic tastes made it interesting, fun and their own. Love that.

They were married in the ballroom on the first floor, and Martha from Blooms by Martha beautified that room with decor that was beyond my (lack of) explanation.

Cocktail hour was in Scandal's Lounge, and upstairs in the Metropolitan Terrace, our photobooth and a Sinatra inspired set of dinner music awaited.

We introduced their wedding party to some funky T.I. selections and the energy was on! Dinner ensued, and when the toasts were complete, the dessert bar was attacked by their guests! There were at least ten sweet creations, from French Macarons to pear crisps to canoles and more. I am guilty of sneaking a couple for myself, and they were heaven!

We then danced solid for two hours, and their guests never left the dancefloor. Once the music ended, their guests just hung out, joked, laughed, hugged and just didn't want and end. So, the afterparty was conveniently downstairs!

Monte Verde Inn Wedding - Foresthill Wedding Dj

Sacramento Wedding DJ

This past Saturday afternoon, we played for Suzanne and Bill at the awesome Monte Verde Inn in Foresthill, CA.

It was the first warm day this spring, and 85 degrees felt like 100 because we weren't quite used to it yet, but it was sooooo nice out!

Suzanne and Bill are country music lovers, and we played a heavier set of country music for the dance hour, which was in broad daylight!

Although it felt a bit foreign to end early, I'm quite sure that they and their group had evening plans in store.

My best to Bill and Suzanne.

Vizcaya Sacramento - Robert and Samantha

Robert and Samantha were married in the courtyard at the Vizcaya, in downtown Sac. The weather was ideal, Samantha looked stunning, and the ceremony was very well put together. Once we went indoors for the reception, the room looked awesome, their cupcakes were stacked high, you could smell the tri-tip cookin', and the appetizers were being served to all. Joel from http://www.2ndbornfilms.com/ was capturing every important moment, and I was spinning Frank, Dean, Norah, Diana and more leading us up to the first dance. I always love it when guests come up to me, and ask me when the dancing is set to begin. Ya' just know it's gonna be a good one! Their first dance was Van Morrison's "Someone Like You." Love that tune! Then the party began, and Samantha was on the dancefloor the entire night, literally!! The tune that brought the house down was "Fat Bottomed Girls." The night ended with them begging for more, but we had to close it up by 11PM. Great night!!

Ambience!

Well, it's been a great summer so far for weddings. I have been fortunate to have worked with some truly great couples, who are fun, upbeat, excited and at the same time, confident and relaxed about the services I plan on providing.

Speaking of services, I have decided to add a new option to my suite of services. Uplighting! It's amazing how a few floorstanding uplights add an incredible mood to a room. I will eventually post before and after photos, but for now, check this pic out! A room can go from nice to beautiful in a matter of moments.
