Last night was as action packed as I've seen a wedding be!
Stephanie & Raegan married after being together for 15 years, and they had so many layers to their day, we had to keep a close eye on the timeline to make sure everything was perfect. And, it was!
I worked alongside Jennifer and Rick Tan, our officiates and ceremony musicians, Cinecrown Photo & Video, and the team from Courtyard D Oro in Old Sacramento. We had a really nice ceremony in the courtyard, followed by cocktail hour, which featured cocktails, appetizers and a photobooth.
Guests were invited indoors for a 5 course dinner, and the evening went like this...
I introduced the wedding party and newlyweds to cool intro tunes. They had family members MC their family introductions, we went directly into toasting, I had some fun handling a centerpiece giveaway activity, the newlyweds waltzed to their first dance, we projected a slideshow that I had created for them, dinner continued, we showed a second slideshow from CineCrown, I opened up the dancefloor, and packed it...they cut their cake, we handled the bouquet and garter fun, and a serious surprise was that CineCrown produced a same-day wedding video that I projected, and it took guests' breath away.
It was a full, fun evening!

Arden Hills Country Club Wedding - Sacramento Wedding DJ
Sacramento Wedding DJ
Just last night, I played for a wild one at Arden Hills Country Club in Sacramento.
Firstly, I knew this wedding was gonna be a barnbuner, as everything about my meeting with Danette (our bride), hinted at. They had my photobooth reserved, amber uplights in the ceremony site and reception ballroom, and my DJ service in both areas.
As I was setting up, I saw Danette arrive and was told she was incredibly sick....:( Apparently, she had a nasty flu, and had been in the hospital the day before getting fluids pumped into her. I tell ya', she was a trooper on wedding day. She had a smile on her face, and you wouldn't have known how terrible she felt.
Their ceremony was short and sweet, and we moved into the Heritage Room for cocktail hour. I have played there many times, and the energy from this group confirmed my knowledge that this was gonna rock!
Our Grand Entrance was loud and well received, dinner was really good (Chicken and Blackened Steak), toasts were emotional and well spoken, and then the party was on!
They danced non-stop for 2+ hours, the photobooth was packed all night long, and Danette survived! Congrats to her and Chris.
The above, 'Action Shot,' was shot by Andrea from Chris Kight Photography.

Sacramento Wedding DJ - Citizen Hotel Wedding
Sacramento Wedding DJ
Just this past Saturday, I played for Heidi and Justin at the stunning Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento.
Their music involvement made this wedding a unique joy for me, as their eclectic tastes made it interesting, fun and their own. Love that.
They were married in the ballroom on the first floor, and Martha from Blooms by Martha beautified that room with decor that was beyond my (lack of) explanation.
Cocktail hour was in Scandal's Lounge, and upstairs in the Metropolitan Terrace, our photobooth and a Sinatra inspired set of dinner music awaited.
We introduced their wedding party to some funky T.I. selections and the energy was on! Dinner ensued, and when the toasts were complete, the dessert bar was attacked by their guests! There were at least ten sweet creations, from French Macarons to pear crisps to canoles and more. I am guilty of sneaking a couple for myself, and they were heaven!
We then danced solid for two hours, and their guests never left the dancefloor. Once the music ended, their guests just hung out, joked, laughed, hugged and just didn't want and end. So, the afterparty was conveniently downstairs!

Kevin and Sarah - Monte Verde Inn Wedding DJ
Sacramento Wedding DJ
I just got home from a really fun evening wedding at Monte Verde Inn in Foresthill, CA. I wish I had photos of their details to share, as the flowers were stunning, the tablescapes amazing and the bride gorgeous. I am sure Jessica from Stout Photography will be posting soon, she is so phenomenal!
Their first dance was 'The way you look tonight' by Steve Tyrell, and once the formal dances concluded we invited all married couples to join in for an Anniversary dance. Our longest married couple was 40 years! Great example!
We danced and partiedmfor almost three hours, and did a Grand Exit on front of the Inn to say goodbye to the newlyweds!

Monte Verde Inn Wedding - Foresthill Wedding Dj
Sacramento Wedding DJ
This past Saturday afternoon, we played for Suzanne and Bill at the awesome Monte Verde Inn in Foresthill, CA.
It was the first warm day this spring, and 85 degrees felt like 100 because we weren't quite used to it yet, but it was sooooo nice out!
Suzanne and Bill are country music lovers, and we played a heavier set of country music for the dance hour, which was in broad daylight!
Although it felt a bit foreign to end early, I'm quite sure that they and their group had evening plans in store.
My best to Bill and Suzanne.

Monte Verde Inn Open House - Auburn, CA Wedding DJ
Sacramento Wedding DJ
Just yesterday we had a ball at the annual Open House at Monte Verde Inn!
Doug and Kelly, owners, generous enough to invite their preferred vendors to share the stage with all of their booked couples for 2012. MVI cooks up most items on each menu, and everyone gets to sample whatever theymdesire, as they begin the process of choosing food for their wedding. MVI does an amazing job on this day, as they set the bar high for the year to come.
Us vendors quickly introduce ourselves and get to mix with couples we have already booked, and look to meet some potential new clients. I played our 'Nearly Newlyweds' game and cracked up at some of the answers our couples gave us!
The weather was great, the company was great and we couldn't ask for anything more.

Forest House Lodge Wedding - Auburn Wedding DJ
Sacramento Wedding DJ
What a blast last night! Raychel is a Police Officer, Dallas is a CHP Officer, and together they are perfection.
They were married in the ballroom at FHL with the reception to follow. It didn't start to heat up until the toasts were delivered. You could feel the energy building right then!
Although things were moving along quite rapidly, the natives were getting restless, and wanted to get to dancing....what a shame for me! Between the combination of adult refreshments, a hunger to party and a super funky music list, it was non-stop until the party moved downstairs into the Lounge, which is way cool!
Best of luck to Dallas and Raychel.
