Kirkwood, CA Wedding DJ - Karen and James are married!
Sacramento Wedding DJ
Kate Miller Events put on a fabulously styled wedding for James and Karen in Kirkwood, at an amazing venue name, The HideOut. You can't imagine how stunning this venue is!
So, I arrived, setup on stage (under a small tent), and in an instant...in August...it started raining in buckets. I was shocked, and my gear was soaked. So, I packed it back in my truck...and waited. The storm lasted 30 minutes and ended in hail. Then, the sun arrived! The wedding was on.
We had a very hipster type group, and things went along super smooth. Right after dinner, there was a belly dancer who entertained for about 10 minutes, and she was awesome. We then toasted, had dessert, and opened the dancefloor in the 50 degree weather.
My dancefloor was packed for a full hour, until the rain decided to return, and we invited all to the saloon for cocktails, and a live band.
we had a great team, great attitudes and great newlyweds!

Tiffany and Zach - Empire Mine - Grass Valley Wedding DJ
Sacramento Wedding DJ
Tiffany and Zach had a gorgeous wedding last night at Empire Mine in Grass Valley.
The castle as a backdrop is a sight to behold.... They had the fastest ceremony I can remember, and we got to the party right away!
Our photobooth was jammin', we had a slideshow repeating during cocktail hour, and the dancefloor was full of fun partygoers until 11:00pm, when the Ranger says to let the animals sleep in the woods.

Matt and Sara - Old Sugar Mill Wedding DJ
Sacramento Wedding DJ
Matt and Sara were married at Old Sugar Mill, and as much as I love my job in life, I felt sooo great after their wedding, I'm not sure I will be able to explain...
Well, we have history! I met Matt and Sara a year ago in Fairfield (halfway between their home and mine), and we instantly clicked. They both have such a positive spirit, great chemistry and are just solid people, I couldn't wait for them to say that I was their guy!
A year passed and it was time to plan, and I drove to San Francisco to meet them over dinner, and it was like we hadn't missed a beat! We had a great time visiting, planning and laughing about life. They wanted to be sure that we had a ball on wedding day, so the ingredients were key.
First, they were married outdoors at OSM, then guests were invited into the barrel room, where there was LIVE music to entertain guests for cocktail hour. I was blown away by the band, 'Delta Road.' They played a mix of blues, country and classic rock, and get this....during cocktail hour, guests were dancing!! I couldn't wait for my turn!!
We had hilarious custom introductions, and as we rolled into dinner service, their guests sang to the newlyweds in order to earn their way to the buffet..it was hilarious! Toasts were great, dessert was delish, and the dancefloor was unbelievable. It was jammed with a sea of guests up to the moment we invited everyone out for the sparkler exit.
It was a spectacular evening.

Danielle and Joseph - Lodi Wedding DJ
Sacramento Wedding DJ
This picture just doesn't tell the story of one the most Grand weddings I have been a part of. Last Saturday, Joe and Danielle wedded on a family vineyard in Lodi...in the 108 degree weather!
I fortunately shared the vendor workday with the amazing Aimee Wendell of 2chic Events, and Jessica Stout of Stout Photography. It doesn't get any better!
Danielle emailed me a year ago...at 5:00am...the morning after she got engaged. She was on the ball, let me tell ya! This was one big affair, and it was decked out. There was a gorgeous tent structure which housed 300 guests, the shot above was of the fabric-laden structure over the dancefloor, which had 4 chandeliers hanging from above. We used 40 uplights, we projected color and patterns on the large home attached to this property, we spotlit the dessert table, the lounges, the bars and more to highlight them.
They had elegant everything, from food to cocktails to decor to programs, and more. Eye candy everywhere!
We started at 5:00, and had a full dancefloor all the way to midnight, and we were all a hot-sweaty mess!!

Sacramento LGBT Wedding DJ
Sacramento Wedding DJ
We couldn't be more pleased about the Equal Rights Decision handed down by the Supreme Court earlier today.
We feel everyone has the right to marry, and carry the benefits that come along with that choice.
We also look forward to serving a community with our DJ services with whom we've been mostly unable to adequately serve.
Cheers!

Wedding DJ Folsom - Lake Natoma Inn wedding
Sacramento Wedding DJ
Kent and Valerie had big plans for their wedding last night at Folsom's Lake Natoma Inn.
As we sat down and planned together, we knew that because we had lots of activity to get through in a finite amount of time, so timing would have to be perfect.
They had a really nice courtyard ceremony, culminating with Calvin Harris', 'Feels so close' as their exit song. That took us to cocktail hour, where we mingled for 30 minutes before inviting guests to take their dinner seats.
As we prepared for the Grand Entrance, I warmed up the guests and asked them to fill out our Newlywed Mad-Libs, as their job was to read them aloud in order to be excused to the buffet. Then, the Grand Entrance... We brought the wedding party in to 'The Most Interesting Man In The World' theme, changing Man to Wedding Party! It was a riot! I read funny little custom quips aloud about each member, then I had the wedding party write an impromptu bio about the newlyweds, and you could just reach out and grab the energy in the room.
Guests read their hilarious Libs aloud, we had dinner, toasts, and then we gave away the table centerpieces in a fun, creative way. We then watched a slideshow that Kent produced, had dessert, and then...the danceparty was on! My dancefloor had a sea of people on it at every moment, making it a wildly rewarding wedding.

Wedding DJ Lincoln, CA - Catta Verdera Wedding
Sacramento Wedding DJ
This past Saturday, I played my first wedding at Catta Verdera in Lincoln. It is quite a stunning venue!
Nicole and Mike Best invited about 100 guests to enjoy their wedding with them, and they enjoyed themselves to the fullest!
Andrea Bucheli was on hand shooting their photos (she's really fun to work with!), and Jeri Murphy masterfully officated their ceremony.
Cocktail hour took place on the patio, overlooking the gorgeous golf course. Dinner was served in their ballroom, and Catta Verdera serves a fabulous 4-course meal!
We toasts, had dessert and danced the night away, and had a blast doing so!

Stephanie & Raegan - Sacramento Wedding DJ
Sacramento Wedding DJ
Last night was as action packed as I've seen a wedding be!
Stephanie & Raegan married after being together for 15 years, and they had so many layers to their day, we had to keep a close eye on the timeline to make sure everything was perfect. And, it was!
I worked alongside Jennifer and Rick Tan, our officiates and ceremony musicians, Cinecrown Photo & Video, and the team from Courtyard D Oro in Old Sacramento. We had a really nice ceremony in the courtyard, followed by cocktail hour, which featured cocktails, appetizers and a photobooth.
Guests were invited indoors for a 5 course dinner, and the evening went like this...
I introduced the wedding party and newlyweds to cool intro tunes. They had family members MC their family introductions, we went directly into toasting, I had some fun handling a centerpiece giveaway activity, the newlyweds waltzed to their first dance, we projected a slideshow that I had created for them, dinner continued, we showed a second slideshow from CineCrown, I opened up the dancefloor, and packed it...they cut their cake, we handled the bouquet and garter fun, and a serious surprise was that CineCrown produced a same-day wedding video that I projected, and it took guests' breath away.
It was a full, fun evening!

Arden Hills Country Club Wedding - Sacramento Wedding DJ
Sacramento Wedding DJ
Just last night, I played for a wild one at Arden Hills Country Club in Sacramento.
Firstly, I knew this wedding was gonna be a barnbuner, as everything about my meeting with Danette (our bride), hinted at. They had my photobooth reserved, amber uplights in the ceremony site and reception ballroom, and my DJ service in both areas.
As I was setting up, I saw Danette arrive and was told she was incredibly sick....:( Apparently, she had a nasty flu, and had been in the hospital the day before getting fluids pumped into her. I tell ya', she was a trooper on wedding day. She had a smile on her face, and you wouldn't have known how terrible she felt.
Their ceremony was short and sweet, and we moved into the Heritage Room for cocktail hour. I have played there many times, and the energy from this group confirmed my knowledge that this was gonna rock!
Our Grand Entrance was loud and well received, dinner was really good (Chicken and Blackened Steak), toasts were emotional and well spoken, and then the party was on!
They danced non-stop for 2+ hours, the photobooth was packed all night long, and Danette survived! Congrats to her and Chris.
The above, 'Action Shot,' was shot by Andrea from Chris Kight Photography.

Sacramento Wedding DJ - Citizen Hotel Wedding
Sacramento Wedding DJ
Just this past Saturday, I played for Heidi and Justin at the stunning Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento.
Their music involvement made this wedding a unique joy for me, as their eclectic tastes made it interesting, fun and their own. Love that.
They were married in the ballroom on the first floor, and Martha from Blooms by Martha beautified that room with decor that was beyond my (lack of) explanation.
Cocktail hour was in Scandal's Lounge, and upstairs in the Metropolitan Terrace, our photobooth and a Sinatra inspired set of dinner music awaited.
We introduced their wedding party to some funky T.I. selections and the energy was on! Dinner ensued, and when the toasts were complete, the dessert bar was attacked by their guests! There were at least ten sweet creations, from French Macarons to pear crisps to canoles and more. I am guilty of sneaking a couple for myself, and they were heaven!
We then danced solid for two hours, and their guests never left the dancefloor. Once the music ended, their guests just hung out, joked, laughed, hugged and just didn't want and end. So, the afterparty was conveniently downstairs!

Allison + Anthony - Sacramento Wedding DJ
Sacramento Wedding DJ
This past Saturday was a great way to start off 2013!
There's nothing better than working with quality vendors, so let's start there...our event planner was the meticulous Kate Miller, our expert photogs were Geoffrey and Lisa from The Goodness and the ceremony and reception were at the stunning, Citizen Hotel.
Now, the couple! Anthony and Allison are a wonderfully classy, cool couple. Not much for the spotlight, they wanted their wedding to minimize the 'center of attention' and make everyone the focus.
They married on the 7th floor Metropolitan Terrace Room, and with uplights, candles strategically placed, the florals meticulously arranged and the lights dimmed, the mood was set for a romantic ceremony.
Guests moved into Scandal's Lounge for cocktail hour, then were invited back to the Metro Terrace for dinner, which Kate Miller designed to be sparkly, stunning and full of class.
As dinner concluded, we witnessed three 'quality' toasts and moved to the Dessert Table, which was an incredibly impressive display of unique cakes and sweets ( I tried one, delish).
The first dance was to Louis Armstrong's, 'A Kiss To Build A Dream On,' and the entertainment highlight was when Anthony and Mom danced. To the guests' surprise, I introduced a bit of Mom/Son trivia! They were the 1999 'Twist' Champions of his last year in High School, so we watched them Twist to Chubby Checker! The crowd loved it!!
We had a great evening from that point forward, full of dancing, partying, cocktails and conversation. The afterparty was at The Grange.
