Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you all. I am playing at the Lido Cafe tonight, and they have sold all available tickets to their bar. Should be fun!

Prayer

Well, here I was just discussing my last wedding, and I received an email today from Pamela, the bride. Her new husband, Brad, just suffered a severe stroke on Christmas day, just two days after they were pronounced husband and wife. We truly wish him a full and speedy recovery...it sure makes one take stock of their life when news like this is so close to us. Please say a prayer for Brad and Pamela.

Saturday's wedding

Well, the wedding went great. It was in Dutch Flat, above Colfax, CA. The ceremony was outdoors, and was a whopping 40 degrees! Partying indoors, and a good time had by all. It was at a cute venue named Dutch Flat Hotel, which is an events center, as well as a BnB. I recommend a visit, as the owners were great. Next gig, New Years Eve!

Tomorrow

I have an interesting situation about a wedding I'm playing at tomorrow. I was referred to this nice couple by a photographer, who is working with the newlyweds. They just fired their DJ because he was insisting on having his daughter attend the wedding and help with serving and cleanup, for a fee. He also wasn't willing to be flexible with the music they wanted to hear, and when they fired him, he called them daily, claiming he was going to show up anyway. The rant went on and on, and I am looking forward to taking great care of my new clients, and possibly meeting the person they let go! Wish me luck...

Introduction

Hello All,

Happy Holidays!

My goal with this blog is to....learn about blogs!! It is, more importantly, a tool for people to come and discuss what mobile DJ's do, what they provide, do not provide, the tools they use to 'move' the crowd, and whatever else comes to mind. The emphasis will most likely be toward the wedding business, as for me, that's where the majority of the work is.

I will invite all DJ's, potential customers, past clients and whomever wants to post to feel free to do so, as I will visit the blog daily to moderate.

Thanks so much.

Joe
